Beta Fish Eggs

When waiting for your betta fish eggs to hatch it is a good idea to prepare some food for the soon to be born beta fry. Usually I like to put some live plants in the tank as soon as the breeding is over.

When the fry are born they will have some avail food as well as shelter.

As soon as the beta fry are born I begin feeding them a regular diet of two micro worms per day. After the first 3 weeks I begin feeding the beta fry micro worms, grindal worms, and artificial beta fry food. I usually rotate these foods daily.

After about 4-5 weeks I feed the beta fry some frozen bloodworms (chopped).

Then at the end of 6 weeks I feed them normal adult beta fish food. This includes floating flake food, freeze dried blood worms, live black worms, or frozen brine shrimp.

A good, solid, frozen food or fish pellet with the occasional live treat is a sure way to go. We usually recommend feeding Beta fish 1 or 2 pellets each time. See our recommended Beta Pellets.
